Greetings, new members!
Come one, c̵oÌ·m̶e all! Welcome, everyone, to the Fairy Investigation Club website! My name is Aerin and I am the club president. This is just a fun little unofficial club where we talk about fairies and the fae and explore their influence and presence on us in the modern-day. Sometimes called the Fair Folk, Little People, or Hidden People, fairies have a whole history of culture behind them and have been written about all over the world. Yes, the WORLD. All sorts of different cultures are hÌ´oÌ·mÌ´e̵ to their own interpretations of spirits and the fae, all of them mystical, magical, and in my opinion, fantastically interesting! And I can’t wait to share these stories with you all!
We mostly wanted this website so we could share our enthusiasm beyond the UCF campus. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for joining our club, or at the very least for taking the time to visit our site. I’ll try to add to the blog daily with interesting facts, new sightings, or just casual updates about the club’s activities. Stay tuned!~

Avery: So like, Tinkerbell style fairies or like LOTR elves and stuff?
Morgan: Treasurer here: both of those depictions could be considered valid modern interpretations of the fae. The aesthetic of certain fairies, (pixies, brownies, etc.) has mostly been used for female-coded entertainment and toys, but since you mentioned it, yes, elves are considered fae but weren’t always depicted as the slender radiant beings that they are in Lord of the Rings. One old but popular depiction is that of the Erlkönig, German for “Elf King,” in a poem by Goethe. He is depicted as this foreboding specter of darkness and death. Keeping on the LOTR topic, think along the lines of the Nazgûl, aesthetically speaking.
